Peter Huang
Kalani High School
Hi my name is Peter Huang I am 19 years old and currently going into my 2nd year of college at University Hawaii at Manoa. I am a intern with Youth for Christ for my second year and I have been stationed at Kalani High School, my alma mater. I firmly believe God is and has been working in Kalani High School these past years. All schools such as Kalani are big mission fields where the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. That all we have to do is open our eyes to see that the fields are ripe for harvest. So I believe God has called me to be one of the few workers to go and redeem the lost and the broken at Kalani.
Every week when it was time for me to go to Kalani to meet with the students I would always get excited. Throughout the year God has consistently brought 60-80 students to the club each week. It was amazing to witness the students move from receiving the physical food of pizza to the spiritual food of the Word of God. At the end of the year what made me want to continue to partner with Youth for Christ is because many of the students raised their hands to receive Christ into their lives and were written into the book of life. God allowing me to be used and to witness such a miracle of students leaving death and into life showed me there is more to be done. I think the theme God has given me is as Paul wrote to the church of Corinth. "To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men that by all possible means I might save some." -Corinthians 9:22. Cause seriously it is not about being the best speaker or the best socializer, but the fact that I am there to meet the needs of these broken students.
